You must have a customer account to register. Please make sure the account is up-to-date prior to the online registration date with all skaters listed under the family account, current contact information, email addresses, no duplicate accounts, and the proper level qualification added

If a skater has not taken lessons in the McFetridge skating program, the qualification level will default to the beginner level for that age group unless an evaluation is done by the Figure Skating Coordinator and another qualification level is determined.

Our skating program offers instructional group classes for all levels (ages 4 & up), freestyle package ice, synchronized skating, a Spring Ice Show, an annual ISI Competition each June and a Summer Skating Camp. From recreational to advanced skater, you will love the programs offered at our facility.

Synchronized Skating

Logo FinalMcFetridge Sports Center is the home of the Chicago Skates Synchronized Skating Teams. Our synchronized skating program has over 20 years of tradition in a team sport that builds character, cooperation, commitment, as well as skating skills. Skating in this organization is based on fun and learning. We want every skater to look forward to practice, work hard, and take pride in their efforts and successes. In the process, each skater will learn how to be creative, confident, and work toward a common goal. The team will also provide individuals with opportunities to lead, as well as to support their fellow skaters. For those who are new to the sport, synchronized skating continues to be one of the most popular disciplines in figure skating. It is already a successful collegiate sport at many colleges and universities across the country. The sport is similar to synchronized swimming, in that a team of skaters performs a program in unison. The program includes elements such as circles, lines, intersections, wheels, blocks and creative elements. The objective is to blend skating elements such as footwork and jumps and spins, into these formations so the skaters look like one unit as they perform. It is truly a spectacular sport to watch and participate in!

The coaching staff is looking forward to a fun 2018-2019 season and has ambitious goals for our future skaters. We hope to offer an opportunity for any skater that has an interest in synchronized skating. Our 6 USFS teams provide a team opportunity for most ages and ability levels.

The Chicago Skates Synchronized Skating teams have had a medal winning season in 2018/2019. The teams have competed in Kalamazoo, MI, Ann Arbor, MI, Fond du Lac, WI and most recently, our Synchro Skills 1, Synchro Skills 2 Red, Synchro Skills 2 Black and Open Juvenile teams won gold at the Synchro IL Competition held at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena, January 18-19.

Three of our Chicago Skates teams, Pre-Juvenile, Open Juvenile and Intermediate, recently competed at the 2019 Midwestern & Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships from January 30-February 2, 2019, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

All three teams skated their hearts out and put amazing programs on the ice. The Open Juvenile team came home with gold! They are the first Chicago Skates team to be the Midwestern Champions.  Go Chicago Skates!
