Junior Team Tennis
Junior Team Tennis is the platform we use to teach kids how to play a set and match. In our tennis program the kids learn the strokes in class. Junior Team Tennis allows the kids to learn how to use the strokes in a match setting and to learn how to play a match.
The child must be enrolled in a tennis class at McFetridge Sports Center or be a consistent weekly private lesson of a McFetridge Sports Center employed Tennis Pro to be eligible to try out for our Junior Team Tennis Teams.
Try Out Information
McFetridge Sports Center has Orange Ball Teams, Green Ball Teams, U12 Yellow Ball Teams, and U13-18 Yellow Ball Teams. Participants must be enrolled in a class prior to tryouts.
Tryouts will be in September of 2022 for the 2022-2023 Junior Team Tennis season.
The Orange Ball, Green Ball and U12 Yellow Ball seasons run from October of 2022 to March of 2023.
The U13-18 Yellow Ball season runs from November of 2022 to February of 2023 to be compliant with IHSA rules. Each team plays one match a month with a championship at the end.
Registration for our Fall 1 Tennis Session will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 9am online through the Chicago Park District website.
